CAM/7 project
CAM/7 project bore in the '90 years to satisfy the requirements of the organizations working in the field of dams managing in the Center - Southern of Italy, with the aim to build a system to monitor and control dams and hydraulic structures. Consorzio Velia made interpreter of these requirements and was engaged in order to verify the possibility to create a data acquisition and processing center for the management of various dams so as to reduce the costs of the service.
So started the project named CAM/7, to make a center that began to operate with 18 dams located in the Center - Southern of Italy. The project was introduced to the Italian Ministry of Public Structures and was asked a financing on the funds of the Framework of Support 1994/1999 of European Community. The financing was granted in December, 29 of 1997 and then bore Centro ISIDE Consortium, with the participation of Consorzio Velia and others eleven managing organization of the 18 dams, with the role of actuator company.
The realization of the project was delivered by the actuator company to the various dam managing organizations in November, 11 of 2001, contextually to its liquidation. In particular, with the liquidation all the structures and instrumentations for automatic dam monitoring are remained to the members of Consortium. In adding, the central structure realized near the dam of Alento is remained to Consorzio Velia, that allowed to Centro ISIDE the use of this building, with the aim to guarantee all the services connected to the management of monitoring systems installed on the dams of CAM/7 project.
