In situ water chemical and physical analyses

A real-time in situ analysis allow to obtain chemistry information for preliminary evaluations or post processing data, reducing the analysis time and decreasing managements costs.





Centro ISIDE is able to realize real-time in situ measurements of main water quality parameters in water bodies, groundwater and wells. Our technicians use HYDROLAB QUANTA probes, multi-parameter instruments that allow to measure until high depth pH, temperature, conductivity, salinity, redox, dissolved oxygen and turbidity.


To realize a set of quality measurements, it's necessary to study the specific local conditions and then, according to the goal to achieve, it's possible to optimize monitoring strategies, caring about the following points:

  • good choice of monitoring spots in relation to:
    • reach and have access to the places;
    • have the availability of structures can be used as a "base" to realize the measurements;
    • rivers confluence;
    • presence of hydraulics structures and/or drain-pipes;
    • special conditions of flow;
  • temporal plan of monitoring based on:
    • duration of monitoring;
    • frequency of measurements;
  • measuring method variable according to:
    • water depth;
    • number of measurements along the water profile;
    • profiling or spot-checking applications in relation to the specific typology of environment;
  • results production with:
    • parameters database plan and management;
    • data production in graphical and tabular form;
    • data processing and statistical correlation with others measured parameters;
    • results comparison with parameters measured in laboratory and correlation with others hydrological or hydrometrical parameters.
